Coaching for Coaches

Otago Hockey is excited to announce coaching workshops catering for our local coaches. We want to up-skill all our coaches, from first-time coaches through to experienced coaches.
These will be enjoyable sessions, designed to ensure you have the tools and confidence to enjoy your coaching while at the same time adding real value to players of all age and stage!
This is an exciting opportunity for the development of our most precious volunteer - the hockey coach. We cater for all levels!!
Club Coaches
Working on team play and pressing. Discovering new tactics and working with the old ones to get the best out of your team
Dates; 11th March, 18th March and 25th March Monday's 6 pm-7: 30 pm
New coaches:
Coach Development course aimed at those new to hockey coaching, for parents who have never played hockey before or players taking their first step into coaching. This will cover basic skill development and player management, with a good array of training ideas.
Dates; 8th April, 15th April and 29th April - Monday's 6pm-7: 30 pm
Year 7 & 8
Coaching Development for the next stage in the coaching pathway. 6 side tactics and further skill development. Further your training ideas
Dates; 9th April, 16th April and 30th April -Tuesday's 6 pm-7:30 pm
Secondary School
Covering elements of secondary school hockey- basic skills to understanding pressing and out letting concepts
Dates; 10th April, 17th April and 24th April - Wednesday 6 pm -7:30 pm
