U16 Teams in 2025

OHA is getting on the front foot and preparing for Hockey New Zealand rolling out an U16 National Tournament in 2026. We are preparing for this by selecting an U16 team this year to go to the Mainland Cup held, this year in Christchurch, over Kings Birthday weekend. 31st May - 2nd July

We will look to play 3 match series against an equivalent Canterbury team over this weekend.

We are looking for Otago's players who are U16 as of the 01/01/2025. The should be at secondary school to be eligible to trial.

Phase 1 has been to have a development program to help U16 players work on their skills at the Accelerator Program.

Phase 2 is around the selection of players for these two teams (1 boys team and 1 girls team). We are looking at selecting 16 players for each team in a trial process on the 6th April from 9.00am - 11.00am at McMillian Centre. (OHA headquarters)

Phase 3 is trainings for the players selected 

Phase 4 is the Mainland Cup.
