Expression of Interest for 2023 National Hockey Championship Teams - Men & Women
We are looking for expressions of interest from players who want to be considered for the Otago NHC teams for 2023. If you are interested in being involved in these campaigns we will be holding North v South matches over the following Sunday evenings
- 30th April
- 7th May
- 14th May
These games will be used as part of the trial process. The game times will be confirmed and teams for North v South will be announced no later than 17th April.
Other tools to be used in the selection process will include:
- Discussions with Club coaches.
- Watching Club hockey during the season.
The campaign begins with the North v South matches and will included key dates which follow:
- Mainland Cup - King's Birthday weekend 3rd, 4th & 5th June (in Christchurch)
- Otautahi Cup - 25th, 26th & 27th August(in Christchurch)
- Trainings will take place on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons - times to be confirmed
- NHC will be held in Hamilton this year 10th -17th September
There are travel and accommodation costs for Mainland Cup and Otautahi Cup as well as NHC tournament. The cost for the 3 trips away is estimated at $1600. This is not a lump sum bill!!
We do not want money to be an obstacle for you so are more than happy to work with you to help this be paid off.
We have coaching work available and we are exploring other fundraising options for the teams to pursue. If you are interested in coaching work please contact Hymie at hockey@oha.org.nz
